HOME Ten Commandments Day Response Page
A response to the news of the Ten Commandments Day scheduled for May 7 (& 6) 2006, promulgated by the Evangelical Christians of the United States (see www.tencommandmentsday.com).
The leaders of the local church decided to inform the general membership about this news and to expound on the implications, what our possible response (s) should be as a church and as individuals and to elaborate on the plans being made as a response to the announcement, by Three Angels Broadcasting Network ([3ABN] See www.3abn.org).
We welcome this move (The Ten Commandments Day) as an opportunity to tell the world in a very distinct way what God requires. We have been preaching and teaching the ten commandments for many decades - we are happy that the Evangelicals of America are now joining us in promoting the ten commandments.
However, we note that they are suggesting / trying to show that Sunday is the Sabbath of the Decalogue. In this we must differ. We support The Ten Commandments Day because we have been teaching for many decades that the ten commandments are valid today, that they represent God's character, that they are eternal and ought to be kept. Further, we believe that the seventh day (Saturday) is the Sabbath spoken of in Exodus 20:8 - 11. We believe the evidence that supports Saturday as the Sabbath is Biblical and incontrovertible on Biblical grounds.
