And God shall wipe away all tears from their their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Rev. 21:4. Praise the Lord!

Jesus Saves! Jesus is Coming Soon! He Will Triumph! Come Over to the Winning Side! Jesus Loves You!

Ministry Activities       Ministry Logo    Ministry Development / Miracles Site Dedication

The Bible teaches that we are in a war, a great controversy [S.D.A. Fundamental Belief # 8]... the controversy between good and evil, between God and satan (Rev. 12:17). Battle Cry Ministry (BCM) believes that Jesus (Michael the Archangel) will be victorious over satan! It can't be any other way ... because Jesus created Lucifer (who became the evil, wicked satan).  Jesus loves every human being (God is love - 1 John 4:8) and wants all of us to be saved (John 3:16,17 / Matt. 25:41). God wants to save you! (Matt. 11:28-30, John 3:3-7 & 16,17, 1 John 1:9, Gal. 2:20, 2 Cor. 5:17)

Theme Text: Ephesians 6:10 - 18

Other Texts: Matthew 24:14, Matthew 28:18-20, Revelation 12:17, Revelation 14:6-12, Revelation 21:1-4, Revelation 22:14.

Theme Songs: From Seventh-day Adventist Church Hymnal: Numbers .... 610, 612, 614.

Ministry Aim: Very simply ... by God's grace (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit) ... at least one soul saved for His Kingdom! PRAISE THE LORD!!! If only one soul is saved it would be worth it! Jesus would have come from Heaven, lived on this sin-cursed earth and died to save ONE sinner! Why? Because in the vastness of eternity the life of ONE soul saved will eventually outweigh / out-value the life of millions or even billions that are lost!  PRAISE THE LORD!

(Imagine that you have twelve fruit trees and eleven of them die / stop bearing fruit. If the one tree that remains alive keeps bearing fruit for say, fifty or one hundred years after the eleven other trees die / stop bearing fruit ... of what value would be the eleven dead / non-bearing trees? compared to the one that is still bearing? eventually? Wouldn't the one tree produce enough fruit to out-value the amount that was produced by the eleven other trees? eventually? throughout eternity?)

Ministry Activities:

(Active or partially active projects: Title in blue AND Inactive projects: Title in red.)

1. Shut-in Ministry:

Ministering to individuals that are classified as "Shut-in": Help to care for them (food, drugs, etc.) / help clean up their immediate environs / play audio and/or video tapes with spiritual messages to help strengthen them spiritually, to encourage and inspire them, etc.

2. Prison Ministry:

Providing reading materials for the prisoners to read (pocketbooks, etc.); preaching, seminars, etc.

3. Small Group Evangelism Support:

Provide books, tapes, etc., motivation and inspiration as well as participation in small group evangelism. Assisting in organizing and launching small groups.  Training persons interested in small group evangelism.

4. Welfare Work:

Helping needy persons with clothes, shoes, filling prescriptions; giving food baskets; implementing a lunch program (for church / community / school). Targeted giving (instead of wholesale distribution) is practiced to ensure that needs of individuals are really met.

5. General Evangelistic Work:

Conducting Revelation Seminars, Preaching (at S.D.A. and non-S.D.A. Churches), etc., conducting lunch-hour Bible Studies or Seminars at workplaces; conducting Bible Studies in the community, etc., etc.

6. Grief Support Ministry:

Counseling / coaching / advice to bereaved families / visitation to homes to encourage and assist in tangible ways if possible / necessary; giving appropriate literature, etc. Giving tangible help if needed.

7. Night People Project:

This is a very special project that requires real anointing and dedication (for prayer warriors / prayer walkers / full dedication, etc.). The aim is to reach out to and win battles (by the Grace of God) for and with Jesus for the souls of "people of the night" (male & female whores, drug addicts, destitute / hopeless people, devil - possessed, etc.) so they can become "people of the light" (Matthew 5:16).  These are all God's people, God's property - God loves everyone of them and desires to save them! John 3:16). Who should be Jesus' hands and feet? Shouldn't the born again Christian be on the battlefield for God to help save these people?

8. Homeless People Project:

Provide clothing, shoes, shelter / get them into a shelter, etc.; set up a mobile soup kitchen to feed them on a regular basis, etc.

9. Support for Other Christian Ministries:

Giving donations and buying products from other Ministries ... on a regular basis; PRAYING for the success of their work; telling others about their work / inviting them to watch, listen to, support, etc.; giving out/sharing materials / information received from these ministries;  Ministries targeted for support in the future and/or currently supported: Amazing Facts, 3ABN, It Is Written, Voice of Prophecy, Windows of Hope, Operation Rescue, Advent Joy, Men of Valour; OTHERS:

10. Youth Mentoring Project:

Encouraging / inspiring / working with young people in a direct way to either create, develop or strengthen them spiritually and otherwise (the emphasis is on Spiritual Development through reading of Spiritual Books and other media, the study of the Word, i.e. both Jesus and His words - the Bible, Prayer, Spiritual Retreats, Fasts, etc.).  The aim is to produce young people who are very strong spiritually, that are highly motivated to witness to others and to work / participate in every aspect of Church work and growth and Ministry work and growth. Praise the Lord!

11. Education Project:

Assist students with: books & shoes, etc. for school, provide lunch / lunch money, tuition fees, research capability and access to resources; tangible assistance through providing a forum for discussion on various topics of interest / giving one to one counseling and advice, tips on examination techniques, etc., etc.

12. Reading Club Project:

Establish and maintain a Reading Club from which church members and others can borrow and read books to strengthen their faith and their witness for Jesus.  The main philosophy of the Club is for members to study and then go teach ... members are encouraged to borrow a book, read it and then lend it to someone (especially non-Christians that they are witnessing to).  The ultimate aim is soul-winning. The long term goal of the Club is to have a very wide membership covering the membership of several churches and workplaces / establishing Branch Reading Clubs in other churches and other organizations.

12. Website Project:

Establish and maintain (frequently update) a website: a simple site that is filled with practical things that can be used to witness to the non-Christian visitor as well as strengthen, encourage and empower Christians with the tools to be spiritually sharp and to strengthen their witnessing ability.  The site should make available not just ideas for witnessing and church work but a means to empower persons to go and tell the good news. It should provide training materials - for witnessing.  It should also provide links to other websites that will lead people even further into spiritual truths and into a closer knowledge of God's words and an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The hope is that this website will be a satellite site / support site / portal to other Christian Ministry sites that are well established and that has much more that will bless the visitor than this site will have (at least initially).

13. Practical / Tangible Support for Churches in their Nurturing and Evangelistic Outreach Programs.

Assist with plans / strategies; give advice and ideas for church nurturing and outreach; lend books, audio and video tapes and other materials, etc.

14. Church Planting Project:

Set up / document a feasible church planting plan.  Help to establish at least one church or church company.

We solicit / crave you fervent prayers for Battle Cry Ministry. Praise the Lord! God Bless! Hope to meet you in Heaven!

P.S. One soul for the Kingdom of God through each aspect of the Ministry that is established would be a bumper crop! Wouldn't that be wonderful!! Praise the Lord!!! Praise the Lord!!! Praise the Lord!!!

The following Amazingfacts article "Who is Michael the Archangel?" should answer all your questions on Michael the Archangel:

Inside Report Articles:
  Who is Michael the Archangel?

Revelation 12:7
by Doug Batchelor and David Boatwright
An Amazing Fact: When King Humbert of Italy came to the throne, Naples was on the verge of insurrection against the monarchy. Politicians were urging violent measures to force the stubborn city into submission, but King Humbert would not allow this. Then there was a sudden outbreak of cholera and the dreaded disease raged with deadly fury in the city of Naples. Ignoring the warnings of his advisors, the young king, moved with devotion and love for even his disloyal subjects, left the palace and went alone through the crowded hospitals of Naples, ministering to his subjects with his own royal hand. Many suffering people breathed prayers of gratitude to this young medical servant, not knowing it was the very king they had spurned.

When the plague was finally checked, many people learned the true identity of the noble nurse who had cared for them during the deadly crisis. Naples then became a conquered city-conquered by the love and pity of the monarch it had once refused. From then on, the people of Naples became Humbert's most loyal subjects.

The Michael Enigma
Questions frequently arise in Christian circles about the true identity of the biblical Michael, sometimes called "Michael the great Prince" or "Michael the archangel." Some claim that Michael is the highest of the heavenly angels, one of the covering cherubs, or a special messenger like Gabriel, and as such is a created being. Others, such as the Bible commentator Matthew Henry, assert that Michael is simply another name for Jesus Himself. Can we know the real identity of this mysterious individual? The key to this puzzling question is found in the Scriptures.

A quick look in a Bible concordance reveals that there are 15 references to the name Michael. The first 10 of them are found in Old Testament chronologies and obviously refer to real people named Michael. In fact, the entry for "Michael" in the lexicon (a Greek and/or Hebrew dictionary) states: "The name of an archangel and nine Israelites." It is the identity of Michael, the archangel and prince, mentioned in the last five references that we are seeking.

The first three of these references are in the apocalyptic Old Testament book of Daniel. The last two are in the New Testament books of Jude and Revelation. During an honest study and comparison of these verses and others, clues emerge that lead us to an inescapable conclusion that the identity of Michael is none other than Jesus, God the Son, and that He is not a created angel, but God's eternal Son!

At first glance it appears that the Old Testament portrays Michael as a prince and the New Testament as an angel. But by looking at other related scriptures where similar language and wording are used, we will see a different pattern emerge.

It's in the Name
First, let's consider the meaning of some words and names. In the Greek New Testament, as compared to the Old Testament, the word "angel" means "messenger," and "arch" means "chief, principle, greatest, or highest." So "archangel" simply means "highest or greatest messenger." The Hebrew name "Michael" means "who is like God" or "Who is like God?" Whether this name is a question, statement, or a challenge will be clear by further study. One angel did profess to be like God. That fallen being is Lucifer, the covering cherub in the heavenly courts who became the devil, Satan, by claiming to "be like the most High" (Isaiah 14:14). In Revelation 12:7 Satan is opposed by "Michael and his angels" and is cast out of heaven.

It is not implausible to assume that if Christ came to earth and became a man in His battle against Satan to save human beings, He might also have identified with the angels to protect them from Satan's evil influence in heaven. In fact, there are several references in Scripture to a mysterious being identified as "the angel of the Lord" before Christ's earthly incarnation. Yet each time He is mentioned there are clues to His identity. Let's review them briefly.

Hagar
After Hagar bore Ishmael to Abraham, she and the barren Sarah could no longer coexist peacefully. Sarah mistreated her now haughty handmaid until Hagar fled into the desert. "And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness" (Genesis 16:7). The angel told Hagar to go back and submit to Sarah, and promised that her son, Ishmael, would be the father of a great nation. When the "angel" disappeared, Hagar, "called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me" (verse 13). It appears Hagar recognized that the "angel" who had spoken to her was really God.

Abraham
God told Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, on mount Moriah. Just as he was about to plunge the dagger into his son of promise, the angel of the Lord stopped him. "And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me" (Genesis 22:11, 12).

It is clear that Abraham was offering his son to God and not to a mere angel. "And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, … because thou hast obeyed my voice" (Genesis 22:15-18). In recounting this experience of Abraham in Acts 3:25, Peter also identifies this "angel of the Lord" as God.

Jacob
While fleeing from his angry brother Esau, Jacob had a dream in which God confirmed the covenant of Abraham to him. After receiving assurance that God would be with him and bring him back safely to his home in Canaan, Jacob vowed to return to God a tithe of all his increase. He set up the stone he had been using for a pillow and anointed it with oil to solemnize his vow. Then he named the place Beth-el, or house of God, since God had appeared to him there.

Twenty years later Jacob was on his way back home, not a penniless fugitive, but a wealthy man. God reminded Jacob who had really brought him success. Here's how Jacob recounted the story: "And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I" (Genesis 31:11). In verse 13 this "angel of God" identifies Himself: "I am the God of Beth-el, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me."

Then, when Jacob wrestled with a heavenly being (Genesis 32:22-32), he was given a new name and blessed. Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, "For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved" (verse 30). In the New Testament, Jesus is the one who blesses His people and gives them a new name (Matthew 5:3-12; Revelation 2:17). Clearly, the angel of the Lord is Jesus Himself.

When Jacob was on his death bed blessing Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, he used the terms "angel" and "God" interchangeably. "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads" (Genesis 48:15, 16). Once again we see that the angel who redeemed Jacob is another name for our Redeemer, Jesus!

Moses
Moses saw a burning bush that was not consumed. "And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush" (Exodus 3:2). Verse four identifies this angel: "God called unto him out of the midst of the bush." And in verse six He identifies Himself. "I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." The angel of the Lord identifies Himself as God!

In his last sermon before he was stoned to death, Stephen agrees with the Exodus account. "And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob" (Acts 7:30-32).

In another instance, the children of Israel were led through the wilderness by God, "And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night" (Exodus 13:21). Moses describes it this way: "And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them" (Exodus 14:19). Again, "the angel of God" is identified as God.

Balaam
In the story of Balaam and his talking donkey, the angel of the Lord again figures prominently. It is this angel who nearly kills the covetous prophet, who is on his way to curse God's people, and saves the donkey from her merciless master (Numbers 22:21-35). After Balaam's close brush with death, "the angel of the Lord said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shall speak" (verse 35). The next chapter reveals who put the words in the prophet's mouth: "And God met Balaam: … And the Lord put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus shalt thou speak" (Numbers 23:4, 5). Here again, "the angel of the Lord" turns out to be God Himself.

Gideon
Gideon had an encounter with the angel of the Lord in the book of Judges. The angel told Gideon that the Lord was with him. Gideon pointed to the oppression of Israel by the Midianites as evidence to the contrary. "And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?" (Judges 6:14). Throughout the rest of the narrative, the person speaking to Gideon is identified interchangeably as the Lord, the angel of the Lord, and the angel of God.

Manoah
Samson's mother, the wife of Manoah, was barren. "And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman" (Judges 13:3). This angel told her she would bear a son who would deliver the apostate Israelites from their heathen oppressors. She quickly called Manoah, who prayed for another visit from the "man of God." When the angel came the second time, Manoah asked him his name. The King James Version of the Bible says that the angel told Manoah that his name was "Secret," with a margin notation that translates it as "Wonderful." This immediately makes us think of Isaiah's familiar prophecy that the name of the coming Messiah would be "Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). The name "Wonderful" for the angel of the Lord who appeared to Manoah connects this "angel" with the coming Messiah who was to be called "Wonderful."

No One Has Seen the Father
Suddenly we have more leads than we can follow at once. The "angel of the Lord" is clearly shown to be God. But the Bible states, "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him" (John 1:18). John 6:46 tells us, "Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father." Obviously, since no man has seen God the Father, all of these Old Testament sightings of God as the "angel of the Lord" must have been Jesus, God the Son, veiling His glory so they could endure His presence without being consumed.

Rebuking the Accuser
There is one more important reference where the angel of the Lord appears in the Old Testament. The prophet Zechariah was given a vision of Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord. Satan is standing at his right hand to resist him. Here we see two adversaries contending over a sinful human being. In this case the sin is represented by Joshua's filthy garments (Zechariah 3:3).

In this narrative the name changes quickly from "the angel of the Lord" (verse 1) to "the Lord" (verse 2), indicating again that they are one and the same. Then the Lord makes an interesting statement. "And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan" (Zechariah 3:2) There is only one other place in Scripture, Jude verse nine, where this sentence is found, and it is spoken by Michael the archangel!

In the small New Testament epistle of Jude we see a vignette similar to Joshua and the angel in the book of Zechariah. "Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee" (Jude 1:9). The situations are amazingly parallel. Christ and Satan are contending over a sinner. A live one in the case of Joshua, and a dead one in the case of Moses. The debate is ended abruptly when Jesus says, "The Lord rebuke thee." Jesus also rebuked the devil when He was tempted in the wilderness. "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan" (Luke 4:8).

Michael the Prince
Isaiah's prophecy about the Messiah (Isaiah 9:6) reveals a key word that bears investigating. One of the names he says that would apply to the Messiah is "Prince of Peace." This immediately reminds us of the three verses in Daniel in which Michael is called a "prince."

There is another verse in Daniel where the "Prince of princes" is mentioned. Again the cosmic conflict is being played out with Christ on one side and the devil on the other, with humanity serving as the battlefield. Symbolic names identify the two arch foes. Both struggle to gain control, Satan against our will and Christ only with our willingness.

"Prince of princes" is actually the same term that is translated "prince of the host" in verse 11. This is similar to "Lord of lords" (Psalm 136:3), "God of gods" (Deuteronomy 10:17), and "King of kings" (Revelation 19:16). All these are titles of deity. He is even referred to as "Messiah the Prince" (Daniel 9:25).

One, or First?
Daniel 10:13 is probably the most difficult verse regarding Michael: "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me." It appears at first glance that Michael is only "one of" the chief princes. This is an unfortunate translation in the King James Version. The word "one" comes from the Hebrew word "echad" which also means "first," as in "first day" (Genesis 1:5). This changes the whole meaning of the verse to Michael being first of, or highest of, the chief princes. Again, a reference to Jesus.

The Voice of Michael
If we take the term "Michael the archangel" and examine the word "archangel," we see another interesting match. The only other passage in the Bible that uses the word "archangel" is 1 Thessalonians 4:16. But look at its context. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first." It is the voice of the archangel that raises the dead in Christ, and the Lord Himself who shouts it. This indicates that they are one and the same. Jesus is the one who shouts with the voice of the archangel, or "greatest Messenger," to raise the dead!

Obviously, angels don't have the power to resurrect the dead. Only God who gives life has the power to restore it. "For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself. … Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth" (John 5:26, 28, 29).

In Jude we see the archangel contending with the devil for the body of Moses, who, incidentally, was resurrected and taken to heaven from whence he appeared on the mount of transfiguration to encourage Christ (Mark 9). In 1 Thessalonians, the apostle Paul describes the resurrection as happening in response to the voice of the archangel. Again we see the parallel between these two verses; both describe the archangel in the act of resurrecting.

When Michael stands up in Daniel chapter 12, there also follows a resurrection, and he is described as the one who, "standeth for the children of thy people" (verse 1). Commenting on this verse, Matthew Henry states: "Michael signifies, 'Who is like God,' and his name, with the title of 'the great Prince,' points out the Divine Savior. Christ stood for the children of our people in their stead as a sacrifice, bore the curse for them, to bear it from them. He stands for them in pleading for them at the throne of grace." Jesus is clearly the one who always stands in our place and for our defense.

Worshiping the Commander
In Revelation, Michael is portrayed as leading the heavenly hosts, or armies, in the war against the rebellious Lucifer that took place there. "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels" (Revelation 12:7). Here the term "dragon" is a symbolic name for Satan, the leader of evil (verse 9), so it is very safe to assume that Michael is another name for Jesus, the embodiment and leader of good. But there is more evidence.

Just as Israel was preparing for its first battle after crossing into the Promised Land, Joshua had an encounter with an unusual warrior. "And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so" (Joshua 5:13-15).

Not only did Joshua worship this being, but the heavenly captain received his worship. If he had been a mere angel, he would have rebuked Joshua just like the angel rebuked John for trying to worship him (see Revelation 19:10; 22:8, 9).

In all the cases where the angel of the Lord accepts worship, it is clearly the Son of God. But where regular created angels are worshiped, they refuse it. Even Jesus reminded Satan in the wilderness, "For it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve" (Luke 4:8).

In fact, all the created angels are commanded to worship Jesus as they did during His first advent. "And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him" (Hebrews 1:6). The devil is infuriated because he knows that someday even he will be compelled to acknowledge Jesus as king and worship Him. "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:10, 11).

The phrase "Lord of hosts" is found 245 times in the Bible and refers to the "commander of God's angelic army." So the "captain of the Lord's host" that Joshua saw was not an angel, but Jesus Himself. That explains why He demanded that Joshua remove his shoes. The place was holy because Jesus was there, just as Jesus' presence at the burning bush made that ground holy for Moses. So Michael, the captain of the Lord's host, or army, is another title for Jesus.

Who Is as God!
When Phillip asked Jesus to show the disciples the Father, Christ responded: "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father" (John 14:9).

Some think that God's Son waited 4,000 years to personally intervene in the affairs of man. Not so! Though it is true that the incarnation occurred 4,000 years after man's fall, God the Son has been personally involved in the history and affairs of His people.

What a wonderful truth that Jesus, God's eternal Son, has ever been actively occupied in watching over, providing for, and protecting His children! He spoke face to face with Abraham and Moses and wrestled with Jacob. He led the Israelites through the wilderness, providing food and water and victory against their enemies.

Remember that the title "Michael the archangel" means "The greatest messenger who is as God." It was Jesus, "the image of the invisible God" (Colossians 1:15), who brought the greatest message of hope, the gospel, to our perishing world!

A Praise Report:

As a result of the work being done by the Lord through Michelle Jones (zealous member of the church / Reading Club / BCM Mentee), using witnessing tools purchased from Amazingfacts (pocketbooks, Panorama of Prophecy CD, etc.) .... two persons have been led to the Lord and have been baptized! PRAISE THE LORD!

Many other persons are being contacted by members of the Reading Club established at our Home Church (Spring Village S.D.A.) and many more are being given the Discover Bible Guides course from the Discover Bible School at the church. This school is being run quite effectively by Salome Bailey ... a tireless worker in God's Vineyard.

God is giving special blessings to those who are on the "Go!" for the Lord (Matthew 28:19).  What a really GRAND Privilege it is to have our Master (our Lord Jesus Christ) work through us to reach out to a lost and dying world to snatch souls away from the grasp of satan into the Kingdom of God! PRAISE THE LORD!

Will you join us?!

God Bless You!

Battle Cry Ministry is very grateful for his willingness to assist / using his talent for the Lord in this way. We are sure the Lord has already Blessed him! He responded to our call as we were without a logo and close to being ready for the launch of the site.  Thank you very much Brother Sanderson. God Bless!

A Tribute: To Mrs. Claudine Delahaye

Sister Claudine Delahaye graciously accepted the challenge to do the logo and was working on it in spite of the fact that she was battling a very deadly disease and, having the challenges that comes with having a home and family (she was a very passionate and compassionate wife and mother) and her work as a primary school teacher. She suddenly succumbed to the disease on Sabbath (Saturday) June 12, 2004. This was a terrible shock / loss to her husband, children, mother and other family members and relatives, friends ... and her home church (Spring Village S.D.A.).

We were plunged into shock and mourning.  She was a very willing saint that was very active in the work of the church, but especially in the Family Life and Women's Ministry Departments. She had big plans for life. She had many plans. One of these included her pledge of financial support to Battle Cry Ministry. Her great desire was to see her husband Donald and son Delaney accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord and accompany her in her walk with her Lord.

She went to sleep quite unexpectedly!  We will never forget Claudine. We resolve to be faithful to God ... because we hope to meet her again when Jesus comes again to this earth to call home His saints! PRAISE THE LORD!

THE LOGO:

Description:

The Logo of Battle Cry Ministry will has a cross superimposed on a wobbling, mis-shaped globe. The cross is a rugged looking one. Going diagonally across the cross (behind) is a blowing trumpet (from the right) and a sword (from the left). Both will be pointing upwards. The trumpet is golden, the sword is silver (or white).  The globe: waters in light blue, lands in light brown.

Above these is a depiction of Jesus' second / glorious coming - with a sickle in His hand (optional) and angels blowing trumpets.

Explanation:

The wobbling, mis-shaped globe: This is symbolic of the earth "reeling to and fro like a drunkard". This depicts the turmoil / environmental / spiritual / other problems that the world is in as a result of the devil's plan. The great controversy is raging on earth and the earth is shaking / reeling to and fro - totally bent out of shape; totally unlike what God wants it to be.  The earth is being ravaged by satan.

Note: The earth is in turmoil not only because men's hearts have become "desperately wicked" but because it is in a real mess environmentally. God will destroy them that would "destroy the earth". Jesus will come soon ... if he doesn't come soon the earth will literally "self destruct". Man would destroy himself and the earth on which he lives. Man now has the capability (with nuclear weapons, etc.) to destroy the earth.

Jesus will come quickly because the Bible does not teach that the earth will be obliterated by man himself. On the contrary God will break up the earth (at the second coming of Jesus) and then recreate it at the third coming of Jesus to the earth). Eventually there will be a "new heaven and a new earth" "wherein dwelleth righteousness"... and we at Battle Cry Ministry say PRAISE THE LORD! Even so, come Lord Jesus.

The Rugged Cross: This represents the fact that Jesus came to this earth, lived a perfect life and died (an excruciating death with unparalleled physical and mental agony) to pay the ransom for mankind (mankind was as it were "kidnapped" by that old satan, the devil, the dragon, "that wicked one").

That cross represents our salvation. Everyone can be saved. It is a free gift ... because Christ did it all for us already.  He paid the ultimate price. We can do nothing of ourselves to save ourselves. Praise the mighty name of Jesus!! He is such a wonderful and loving God!!! Can you imagine? God became man in order to save mankind? It really blows my mind. All I can say is ... "Thank You Jesus!!!". PRAISE THE LORD!

The Trumpet: This trumpet represents the loud proclamation of the Gospel ... the good news of salvation. It indicates that Battle Cry Ministry is a part of the movement that is doing everything (sacrificial giving and evangeliving) in its power to reach out to a lost and dying world... a world that needs the message of salvation.  It is our sincere hope that the message will reach to many hearts through the work of this Ministry and that many will respond positively, accepting Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord.  It is further hoped that many will be encouraged to recommit their lives to Jesus, worship Him in Spirit and in truth and in turn, start to reach out to others with the message of salvation (if they were not already doing so); if already engaged in this work ... may they be encouraged to continue and to increase their witness in every way and every means possible.

"And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come".  This means a special message will be proclaimed to all mankind before Jesus comes. We believe that message is the one proclaimed by the three angels of Revelation 14:6 - 12. PRAISE THE LORD

The Sword: This sword represents the "Sword of the Spirit" or the Word of God. This is the choice weapon of warfare. We are in a battle ... the Great Controversy between good and evil. The word of God is powerful and "sharper than any two-edged sword".

We immerse ourselves in the study of the word of God as we seek to know Him ... and as we seek to be "approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".  God's word is truth and through this truth we are sanctified. The sword is awesome in the spiritual warfare as it is both an offensive (attack) and defensive (protect) weapon.  PRAISE THE LORD

The sword helps us to overcome satan and his demons and break down the strongholds that the principalities and powers of this world have set up in men's minds. It also allows us to defend ourselves from the attacks of the forces of evil.

We must also use it to defend what we believe. Also, remember that Jesus used the word ... the "It is written" to overcome and crush satan.

While the sword is an indispensable weapon in the warfare we recognize that an even more awesome and indispensable co-weapon is prayer.  Pray for us as we continue in this warfare.  PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! (One for the Father, one for the Son and one for the Holy Spirit).

Depiction of Jesus' Coming: This represents the Blessed Hope of all the saints of God... that is, all who are serving Him in Spirit and in truth. Praise the Lord! What a glorious wonderful day it will be ... that day will be like God's "Package Deal" to mankind ... to those who love Him and serve Him.  He desire all men to be saved ... but only those who accept His full and free gift of salvation will be saved.  Anyone that will be saved would have made their calling and election sure by accepting Jesus Christ as personal Saviour and Lord.

The sickle in the hand depicts Jesus' coming to reap the harvest of the earth. He will come to gather the wheat into his barn ... but the tares will be bound in bundles to be burnt. Indeed, earth's harvest is soon to be reaped.  Am I a "wheat" or a "tare"?

On that day many things will happen ... and a thousand years after that Jesus and all the redeemed, the angels, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, will come again to this earth ... and then the earth will be recreated and we will live forever in peace and harmony and get to know God throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.  What a wonderful inexpressible privilege we have .. because the GOD OF THE UNIVERSE (Blessed be His HOLY Name!) will come to live on this earth with mankind!

This is really beyond me ... how GOD (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) could love us so... ?? This really, really completely blows my mind!  We do not have enough tongues to tell how grateful we are that God would think to come and save us and then move the "Capital of the Universe" (the place where His throne is / where He dwells) to this earth!!! O Jesus!!!  Thank You Jesus!!! Thank You Jesus!!! Thank You Jesus!!! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD!

Second Battle Cry Ministry Logo

Copyright, October 2008, Marc Farquharson, Marcel Prendergast, Jozie Ridge

This new logo was conceptualized by Bros. Marcel Prendergast & Jozie Ridge. The artwork & design was done by Marc Farquharson.

The open Bible:

BCM aims to advance the knowledge of God's love and the good news of salvation with the world. This good news is contained in the Bible which we believe is the Word of God or, God's love-letter to man. We hope by the grace of God that whatever we do will lead to an opening of the Word/a better understanding of the Word and the God who inspired it.

The three trumpets:

As pictured, the trumpets are coming out of the Word, the Bible. These are symbolic of the loud proclamation of the Word of God - through whatever means. Particularly, the three trumpets represents the three angels' messages being proclaimed in the Book of Revelation, in chapter 14, verses six to twelve. In the battle we are in, the Great Controversy, BCM plans to loudly proclaim the word of God - the good news of salvation.

Ministry Development and Miracles:

July 25, 2004

Battle Cry Ministry "began" in about January of 2001. Before then it was mostly just a figment. The name of the Ministry and everything else about it, I believe, was inspired by God … as he continually impressed me with the need to urgently spread the gospel and, have a heightened awareness of the Great Controversy that we are in.

I say it began when it did because at that time I was inspired to start creating Power Point presentations using a Revelation Seminars set that was loaned to me (and which I had for years without doing much else than an occasional glimpse at the materials) by Sis. Claris Brown from the Johnson Town S.D.A. Church.

The idea was to get the lessons into presentation format … so that it could be projected on screen and be used for preaching OR sharing in small group meetings, OR for studying at family devotions, etc. The Ministry was really inspired by a need to reach out to others as well as a need to commit our lives to follow the great Gospel Commission to "GO".

This strong inspiration was born / fueled by the impact of 3ABN … and how God used it to "nurse us back to spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health" (after my wife had a very devastating accident that almost took her life and we had hit a low ebb in our fight).

Another big inspiration was the Ministry of Amazing Facts … which was introduced to us by 3ABN.

God blessed the efforts from start as I sought to get pictures to build the presentations and as brethren "chipped in" to provide pictures through the loan of books, old Quarterlies, etc. which I would scan … one time (I was desperate!) I even took a T-shirt off one of my son’s back in order to scan the picture of the Bible that was on it to put in a presentation. To that point I had no picture of a Bible. Thanks much to all those who contributed! God Bless!

When the Revelation Seminar presentations were completed (after many months) several other (massive) presentations were prepared … it was as if I was "possessed" (still am). I kept on creating presentations, writing off stories and experiences from 3ABN, typing sermons I had preached, and generally getting resources in place for sacrificial / sharing / caring Christian Ministry.

The Revelation Seminar was first presented to a small Company of believers in Church Pen, St. Catherine in 2002 … the opposition of the devil was evident as we were plagued with "uneventful happenings" (torrential rains, church closed when it should be opened, no electricity, confusion about meeting time and date, computer mysteriously wont work, electricity low voltage, etc., etc.). All the time I kept studying the Bible … and scanning more and more pictures … I exceeded my target of 1,000 pictures soon enough. Many of these pictures were retained in many of the presentations even though we have since acquired better quality / more fitting pictures - to remind us of our beginnings and of the struggles we endured. Praise the Lord!

Battle Cry Ministry is grateful for the Help we received from all who supported us in 2003 (July – August) as a Revelation Seminar entitled "The Love of Jesus in the Book of Revelation" was conducted at our home church … Spring Village S.D.A.  And praises to the Lord ... 10 precious souls were baptized! Praise the Lord!

As we continued working for the Lord the Ministry activities increased to incorporate much of the work we were allowing God to do through us. We started visiting the Amazing Facts website … and downloaded the Free Library articles they have available, printing them and starting a Reading Club (some of these articles were loaned to persons attending the first Revelation Seminar Series as the Club had started shortly before then…they were greatly appreciative and many persons were blessed and strengthened by the articles and also used them to witness to others).

The main strategy is for members to borrow the articles, read them and then lend them to individuals as a part of their witnessing.  We also started supporting Amazing Facts by purchasing books, pocketbooks, tapes, CD’s, etc., etc.  This eventually gave birth to our Media Ministry and later, the re-launching and then revamping of our Reading Club, as the printed articles were replaced by pocketbooks. To date (February 2008) we have a solid, vibrant Reading Club with 121 members and scores of books with over seventy titles! Members include non-Adventists, members from other churches and new converts. We have also established three other Reading Clubs and should be launching another real soon!

We have a praise report of two persons being baptized recently (May 2004) as a result of the work the Lord did through a member of the Reading Club who is also our first mentee (Michelle Jones). May God continue to bless her as she continues to work for Him and to give tangible support (time, finance) to the Ministry. Praise the Lord! Danny and Linda would say … "That’s a two-hander!" To date, Michelle is not only the very dedicated, efficient and motivating Director of the Home Church Reading Club but is in charge of all Reading Clubs existing and to be established! Praise the Lord!

The other materials later formed our stock of resources to support Evangelistic Meetings, Small Group Evangelism and Evangelistic and Nurture Programs in Churches. They are also used in our witness to the community. Later, as more resources were acquired and the scope of the Ministry increased, some were dedicated specifically for use in our Youth Mentoring Program. The Ministry’s short-term target is for eight mentees in the program (to date, we have six). Update: Our target of eight Mentees was met. To date, almost all are actively involved in different areas of Church and Ministry work.

God has been blessing the Ministry and our faith is strengthened as people respond to the various programs / activities of the Ministry, some of which were either successfully launched or attempted through our home church. We still pray and hope and plan for more areas of the Ministry to get started...soon. We thank all those who have supported the Ministry in any way so far. God Bless!

Other Work: B C M:

(i) gives a monthly donation to 3ABN,

(ii) make regular purchases from Amazing Facts / give ad hoc donation,

(iii) make occasional purchases from It Is Written (and other Ministries)

(iv) donates a small monthly contribution towards defraying expenses for prescription drugs for a needy person

(v) make occasional gift packages to the needy / poor - through targeted giving.

Etc.

We hope that all of these will be multiplied many times over as the Ministry grows. We believe this is only the beginning ... the "tip of the iceberg".

Our greatest desire is to be able to be empowered to do much, much more! We truly feel that we have only just begun in the work. Truly, this warfare that we are in requires our all – our time, temple, treasure and talents – and involves sacrificial giving.

All the materials and equipment are prayed over and dedicated to the Lord and He is asked to protect and keep / to work on hearts of readers, listeners and viewers. God is honoring those prayers.

There are plans to do much, much more both in terms of the number and extent of projects, as we anticipate the Lord using us to further advance His cause. We hope we will be faithful and found worthy as we have faith and make ourselves available to God for His work.  We truly want to see Jesus come. Please pray for us.

Praise the Lord!!

We need your prayers.

Battle Cry Ministry Website: There have been several miracles associated with this site so far … Praise the Lord! The mere fact that we can even refer to "website" for the Ministry is a miracle in itself … all Glory to God! As we had no money to have a site professionally built … and we felt we had no time to dedicate to building a website … if we knew how! That’s the second miracle. We wanted a simple website … built from scratch … and to look original / unique / how we wanted it. We had no idea what to do / how to build a website. However, we prayed … and started something … when we got "stuck" we started to ask questions of persons whom we think might be able to help … but they could not … BUT GOD COULD! We kept praying and working as God literally led us by the hand, step by step in building the site from scratch. It was / is hard work. Work began on the site since January of 2003 … and the work is still being done to date … tedious, at times frustrating, but always with a sense of awe as we watch God work! Some memorable happenings to date:

1. The mystery of the disappearing home page! The Home Page was "lost" (truly lost, never retrieved, each time done over …from scratch!). One night work was done and much progress achieved until finally it was decided that work should stop … at 3 a.m. POOF!! The home page was gone … and many hours of painstaking work / prayer / meditation / struggle / ideas / praise / etc. … along with it. The devil was exultant! And a wave of severe discouragement swept over my soul … it was a hot (yes, I literally felt heat around me … and in my head!) steaming battle as the devil tried to force a discouragement decree … "give up" was whispered and shouted often … a knife cut through my heart as I prayed, left the computer and decided to go to bed … but with the resolve to NEVER GIVE UP! And to continue to work on the site. God Blessed ... and the page was rebuilt from scratch.

2. The case of the attack on the computer … various attacks! Viruses, water, etc. One day the machine shut done … inexplicably … as I called a technician in desperation and bewilderment and told him the problem (one I surely couldn’t handle!) … holding out some hope … lo and behold … he had no idea and "don’t know what to tell you". I knelt and pray over the computer .. I felt darkness and gloom. The machine would not restart … the machine was just dead / blank … but again I prayed … we serve a mighty God! … and computers are a breeze for Him to fix … I was told (an almost audible voice!) to just "close the computer and go to your bed … everything will be alright in the morning" (it took some faith to believe .. remember, not even an experienced technician knew what to tell me) … I went to bed … in belief … If it was God’s project … He would have to take care of it, He would have to solve this one. Praise God! Praise God! Praise God! The next morning (just a few hours after – because it was really late when I went to bed) I turned on the computer … and it was like nothing ever went wrong with it! It was "alright" …as I was told. It was like the computer had a "new lease on life". You can only imagine my joy, my gratitude, my praise!  This really strengthened my faith in God ... and gave me courage for the journey ahead!

One other memorable attack came just as unexpected as the others. The laptop was placed, as usual, where it was least likely to get wet / where there is really no likelihood of water reaching it … for water had never reached to that part of the room before … far from windows, etc.  The safest place in the room.

Windows were usually closed .. but, not this time … somehow no one remembered to close the window that day… and also, no one expected rain that day… and torrential rain at that!

However, we "knew" the computer was safe … it must be .. until we saw it! … the case was soaked in water … wet … dripping wet! … my thoughts raced … its done for!? … as I opened up the case I literally held my breath … yes, I was afraid to even breathe Lord, what is this?… but, as I took the machine from the case there was only a slight wet on a small part of the computer … where no "vital parts" were located … the rest of the machine was completely dry … We believe God had kept it! … We thank Him! What a Wonderful God we serve!

3. Some large Power Point files that I had literally forgotten were unexpectedly found … (the site pretty near completion) they were hidden … some work was done on the computer by the technician … these files were too large and I was unable to transfer them to the laptop from the desktop system … I had just left them … without a solution … about one week before they were found Yahoo! began offering 100 megabyte mailboxes - and I was suddenly able to send files that are as large as 10 megabytes! (Yahoo moved up from a total mailbox size of only 4 megs!!). These files were crucial study files (many hours spent preparing them - on the Book of Daniel, The Sabbath, Jesus' Second Coming, etc.).  Through a fairly long, time-consuming process we were able to split up all these files, email them, download and rebuild them and place them on the website ... available from a page called "Special Bible Studies". PRAISE THE LORD!

The thing is, we thought the site was done / ready for first launch on June 30, 2004 – but, apparently, God was not ready! To date, additions are still being done, including our official Logo that was just inserted in the home page on Sabbath, July 23, 2004. PRAISE THE LORD!

4. On June 30 we did not have the Ministry logo ready – but we were willing to go it without … a sketch / "stand-in" logo was done. However, since then God led us to an artist … that was right there "under our nose" – all along! He promised to fast track the logo for us. The other person that was working on the logo – a dear friend and church sister - died suddenly on Sabbath June 12. This death brought us much grief – but we are resting in the assurance that we will see her again some day … when Jesus comes. Brother Sanderson fulfilled his promise and the logo was received on Sabbath July 24, 2004. PRAISE THE LORD!

Special Projects and Plans for Future Development, BCM: Prepared for Presentation on Religious Liberty Day at SVSDAC, January 22, 2005.

Special Small Projects Ongoing: Volunteers Needed

Book Projects: Status: (1) Amazing Facts Free Articles Book Started (about 30% complete; a research resource document),

Printer as a small book and then widely distributed to Church Leaders and members here and abroad)

Others:

(3) Web Site Development Start (15% complete; Rev. Sem. Pages, etc.). Update: The total updating of the website is almost complete and will include a search option, a contributions page and donation buttons to accept gifts from our website users / supporters.

(4) Website Potential Impact Assessment Complete & Available. Update: The Hit Statistics for the website has revealed that there are hundreds of persons (maybe thousands!) from over sixty countries that have visited the site and studied and downloaded many gigabytes of different types of files! The book of Revelation is being studied and used to preach the everlasting gospel! This was / is one aim for putting up the site. The updated site will emphasize the Revelation Seminars lessons in a very special way to make them the main offering of the site.

(5) Downloading articles, etc. for Church Elders and others to read (eg. "Who Are the Davidian

SDA’s?", "Reclaiming the Lost Members",etc.) This will be ongoing.

(6) Monitoring the Web Sites of Ministries that give free books, Bible lessons, etc. Ongoing; (Books received – display). This went well. However, the emphasis was switched to purchasing high class witnessing materials to support other Ministries - mainly Amazing Facts, It Is Written - and for use in our witnessing, mentoring and training activities.

Future Development: Web Evangelism

Building of more websites for the Ministry. Suggestion: (i) Keep the sites small (say, within 50 megs), (ii) Each site address specific issues, for example, (a) Offshoots (covering 4 or 5 of the offshoots plaguing the Adventist church – how to identify & deal with them; the dangers they pose to the church, etc. (b) "Hot Topics" – issues that are current / causing spiritual and moral havoc in the church and society generally; for example: Same sex marriage / homosexuality, abortion, etc.

Future Development: Training for Nurture and Evangelism in Church (es) that will have us.

Training in Preaching.

Training in Giving Bible Studies.

Training was done with at least 15 persons at the home church. The training program that was used was the Winsome Witnessing Program by Gary Gibbs. Both videotapes and Power Point presentations (made by BCM / based on the tapes). All 15 persons are currently active in various outreach activities (small group, visitation, Bible studies, etc.). Praise the Lord!!

Training in Visitation.

This was done with the entire church (Power Point presentations).

Training in how to obtain decisions for Christ.

This was done with the entire church (Power Point presentations) as well as with small group trained for witnessing..

Stop Smoking Plan.

Two plans are available (contained in this site also).

Organizing the Church in a way that will help it to grow.

Two copies of the book "How to Help Your Church Grow" by George E. Knowles was purchased and one is now in the possession of the Personal Ministries Director of the church for 2005. The BCM President had a spirited discussion with him and follow-up is to be done: more discussions, ideas, plans, etc. are to be pursued for activities for the church’s evangelism program for the coming year and beyond). The zeal for the Lord’s work was mutual between the discussants).

Presently both the Personal Ministries Director and Assistant are members of BCM and they have been using materials and ideas obtained through BCM to help to grow and nurture the church. Praise the Lord!

Small Group Promotion & Support.

The invitation has been made and renewed occasionally and, even extended to the District of churches (made at a District Elders' meeting from about 2004 / 5.

Video & Audio Tapes to Encourage Good Stewardship, Missionary Work, etc., etc.

Several very good tapes, etc. are available for lending, etc.

Shut-in Ministry:

One shut-in is on permanent assistance / receives some form of support monthly.

Prison Ministry:

This was started as a lot of literature / books / magazines were donated; plans were afoot for doing Revelation Seminars at the prison chapel (at the Spanish Town District Prison). We hope to revive this effort - likely, through collaboration and support of another Lay Ministry - Men of Valour.

Small Group Evangelism:

Several small groups were started. To date, only one exists. It has become a large group and, there are plans to split the group into two.

Community Services:

Expand the work of distribution of food baskets, clothes, shoes, etc. to the needy to the wider Ministry level, i.e. to include every Ministry member; make the giving a regular feature / Ministry activity – the poor are many!

Currently, there are plans to start distributing food baskets in the community with a medium term goal of starting a food wagon that would distribute healthy cooked meals in areas of the wider community where there are a lot of destitute persons. The long term goal is to have several food wagons throughout the Central Jamaica Conference and throughout Jamaica. Praise the Lord! Please help us pray for this project.

Branch Reading Clubs:

Plans are in place to start as many new Reading Clubs as possible in other churches (even non-Seventh-day Adventist) that will have us.

Currently the Reading Club at the home church is the largest and most vibrant. It has been recently revitalized with more persons joining, members starting to return dues owed and several new books added to the already robust collection. Many members, new converts and even persons who are not members of the church has been blessed through the Reading Club over the years. At least three persons have been influenced towards their decision for baptism because of the work / philosophy of the Reading Club. The purpose of the Club is two-fold as members first read the books (nurturing) and then lend them to persons to whom they are witnessing, etc. (evangelism).

There is one Club currently at the Johnson Town Church in East Jamaica Conference and, one that was started at the Church Pen Church is now dormant - but, hopefully will be revived in the near future. There are plans afoot to have one established at the Red Ground Church. One is being run with teachers & students at the Old Harbour High School (a transfer of the Club that was run at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education). There is also the possibility of establishing Clubs in a district of churches in Portland.
